Stilettos Strike Leaving All Other Shoes Behind

Women's stilettos are shoes with a very high and narrow heel. Named after a dagger and varying in height, stiletto heels appear to elongate women's legs and decrease the size of the foot while, at the same time, displaying women's busts and buttocks and, of course, adding height.

The popularity of stilettos as a real trend increased drastically in the 1950's with the help of famous actresses Marilyn Monroe and Jayne Mansfield. With these ladies as foot models, the stiletto became an international symbol of sex appeal that lasts through this day. Women now wear stilettos to showcase their attractive busts and butts and to add a touch of feminine flirtation to the everyday outfit of jeans and a tee. Yes, ladies, there is a way to look a bit more fit without actually having to join a gym: it's called the stiletto. Women's stiletto shoes, because of their long and thin heels, contort the body in such a way so as to enhance your naturally beautiful shape, in addition to creating the illusion of added height.

The actual word "stiletto" is derived from the word "stylus," which means a pin, and refers to the metal pin that runs the length of most stiletto heels today to reinforce the sometimes spindly heels. The first stiletto heels were documented as recently as the 1940's, making the stiletto a relatively new style.
